How to be Popular

We all want to be popular amongst our friends, family and acquaintances. Some have this art naturally while some have to develop it. I am listing down some ways to become popular in this article.

Look presentable

We form our first impression on people with our external appearance. So, to look presentable is in your own benefit. By this I don’t mean that you wear makeup 24/7 if you’re a girl or keep combing your hair every half an hour. It means dress neatly and don’t look scruffy. Being badly dresses always leaves a bad impression.

Be Friendly

This may seem one of the most obvious points but it’s very important. If someone talks to you in class or in library who you don’t know or have never talked to, give them a polite answer and be friendly. If they need some help, help them out. This way, you are building up your fan base.

Be Interested

The reason many people end up boring others and being unpopular is that they try to get people interested in them while not taking any interest in the other person at all. When you are having a conversation with another person, try to get them to talk about themselves. Find common interests or hobbies. If there aren’t any, get them to talk about their own passions and ask questions to them about it.

Get Involved

If you are in school or college, get involved in some extra-curricular activity or society. This can be anything you are interested in like drama, literature, music, etc. This is a great way to get yourself known outside class and make more friends.

Be Original

One of the best advice anyone can give you about being popular is being yourself. Don’t try to act like someone else. Be yourself and be happy about it.

Be confident

One thing common in most popular people is that they are confident and don’t seem to be self-conscious.   If you are too nervous thinking about how you look and what others think about you, it will be difficult to have a good impression on them. So, be confident, you know you are likeable, you have nothing to worry about. Just love yourself and others will love you too.
